Shake it, Baby! ~ Bellydance in Pregnancy

Bellydance originated as a ritual Middle Eastern dance that woman shared to celebrate one another and their bodies, and to prepare for childbirth.  The performance aspect now commonly associated with bellydance came much later.  As a bellydance instructor, Chaya integrates her knowledge of the pelvic floor, uterine ligaments and reproductive systems with the performance elements of dance to create a diverse, fully embodied experience.  The intention of this powerful work is to connect us with our hips, our pelvic floor muscles and our babies, to strengthen and open us, increasing our preparedness and potential for having a joyful and natural birth experience.

No prior bellydance experience necessary. Wear clothing that is comfortable to move in, and if you have a hip scarf or coin belt you wish to wear, please bring it! There will be extras available during the class.

About Chaya Aronson

Chaya Leia Aronson, RN BSN is a bodyworker, health and sexuality coach, dancer, lover and mother. Chaya believes that we source our creative, life force expression through our pelvic bowls and if the energy is blocked here, it greatly affects our capacity to be our full authentic selves in the world. Her passion is to support pelvic and abdominal health and healing. The main forms of bodywork she practices are the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® and Holistic Pelvic Care™. Bellydance, contact improvisation and yoga have been the central core of her spiritual and physical practice for over 20 years. She weaves the knowledge she’s gained about movement patterns and body structure with her playful and intuitive spirit to support her clients in actively healing their own bodies and spirits.
